What could be better then gathering with family and friends on the beautiful grounds of the Mexican Heritage Plaza & Gardens, on a Sunday afternoon, sipping agua fresca and sangria and enjoying a variety of BBQ and Latin cuisine, while Cuba’s ultimate dance band -  Los Van Van - play live for you in the plaza.

Virtually everything we know about tropical music has been built upon the legacy of musicians of one tiny Caribbean island circa 1959. And that was enough. Cuba’s contribution to this legacy – the son, became salsa, then montuno, which then became mambo, finally it was descarga which ultimately proved Latinos could jam with the best in jazz. This legacy has shaped the sound of Puerto Rico, New York, and Latin music throughout the world. But Cuba’s musical development didn’t end with the revolution. On the streets of Havana, even under economic blockade and ruin, the music continues to change, adapt and, above all swing. Stronger, harder, year after year, as Cuba grows so does its music. This is the sound of Los Van Van, for 30 years Cuba’s ultimate dance band. The sound of the party after the revolution!!!!
