(ODC) Olympic Dance Club Dance Lessons
Dancesport denotes dance as a sport activity. Initially this term was applied to competitive ballroom dancing, in its International Style.
The International DanceSport Federation, or IDSF, is an international governing body for amateurs, while the World Dance Council (WD&DSC) is an international governing body for dance professionals.
Social/Street dance, also called vernacular dance is an umbrella term, used to describe dance styles that evolved outside of dance studios in everyday spaces such as streets, school yards and nightclubs. They are often improvisational and social in nature, encouraging interaction and contact with the spectators and the other dancers. At ODC, social dances mean Salsa, Tango Argentino, Bachata, Merengue etc…
1. DANCESPORT: Latin Dances and Standard Dances included
1.1 Basic Latin class: 4 Latin dances included
- Rumba
- Chacha
- Samba
- Jive
1.2 Intermediate Latin class: Upper level for Latin dances
- Rumba
- Chacha
- Samba
- Jive
1.3 Basic Standard class: 4 Standard dances included
- Waltz (or slow Waltz)
- Vienese Waltz (or quick Waltz)
- Tango (Tango International Standard)
- Quickstep
1.4 Intermediate Standard class: Upper level for Standard dances
- Waltz
- Vienese Waltz
- Tango
- Quickstep
2. SOCIAL DANCES:
2.1 Basic Salsa class: 3 street dances are included
- Salsa
- Bachata
- Merengue
