Co-Founder of RicaSalsa

Sarah is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Her first exposure to Salsa was in 1992 at Hamilton College, in Clinton, New York. Her friend Elio Machillanda from Venezuela introduced her to this wonderful dance form.

Sarah knew just enough to know that she had to continue to learn Salsa when she moved to the Bay Area in October 1995. She began to take lessons with Alex Da Silva and then later, Gabriel Romero at Alberto's NightClub in Mountain View, California.

In May of 1997, Sarah met Ricardo TÚllez, who was at that time, DJ at Alberto's on Thursday nights. Ricardo began to teach Sarah more detailed techniques and styling.

Sarah and Ricardo were married in April 1999, and they have been teaching and performing together ever since.
