.When did you join RicaSalsa?

"November 2000."

Why did you want to join? Tell me the story of how you came on board.

"Chih Ling and I took private lessons with Ricardo and he would talk about the team often. It sounded like so much fun to be able to not only perform, but join a group of experienced dancers and learn more. Ricardo mentioned that he was looking for more couples and he eventually asked us to join. I kept asking - are you sure we are ready and he convinved us to stop by the practice. When we arrived at the first practice, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. It has been a great learning experience."

How long have you lived in the Bay Area?

"I have lived in San Jose all my life (22 years)."

When did you start dancing salsa?

"Well, I took social ballroom classes at San Jose State and we did a little bit of salsa (about 2 years ago). I knew how to get by and do some moves, but nothing very complex. But I really began learning the "club" salsa techniques when I took private lessons with Ricardo."

What do you like most about dancing in the troupe?

"We have a great group of decicated people who want to learn and improve as a team. It's so much fun dancing salsa and actually learning so much during our practices."

Tell me 3 things you like about your RicaSalsa dance partner.

"Chih Ling is a very friendly and thoughful guy, he always makes me smile when we dance, and he is very dedicated and eager to learn. I also admire him for his hard work he puts into his job and that fact that he is tri-lingual.(oops..I think that's more than 3)"
