Dance Sexy with Salsa and be Sexy
The Cuban beat. The swaying of the hips. The
movement. The Salsa is a dance that incorporates the dance
styling of Rumba, Cha Cha, Ballroom Dancing and many other Latin
and European beat dances. The term Salsa was taken from the
Spanish word for sauce. The dance itself is a sauce, with
ingredients from many cultures. And just like the Spanish sauce,
this dance is of the spicy variety. Salsa dancing is a
passionate rhythmic dance that is fast and intimate.
Salsa dance is based largely on footwork and
rhythm. The two partners, usually a woman and a man, face each
other while dancing. There are two positions in Salsa dance. The
Open position and the closed position. In an open position, the
man leads the woman by holding her hand, which is important when
the lead turns, spins or moves his partner. In the Closed
position, the man lead his partner by placing his arm and hand
on the woman’s back, and the woman, in turn, places her hand
on her partner’s shoulder. Both partners dance in a back step
and a front step that is similar to the Cha Cha Cha dance. The
upper body remains level while the feet move causing the hips to
shift in what is infamously called the Cuban hip movement.
Although there are technically simple and
basic rules on how to dance Salsa, because of its many roots in
a variety of dances, Salsa is very open to improvisation. This
is what makes it so much fun. Its all about the rhythm and
feeling the music move your hips and feeling your partner and
move with his or her movements on the dance floor
Courses to teach salsa dance are available
everywhere and can be easily found on the internet. Also online
videos and DVDs show instructions as well as technique. Most
videos teach salsa dance step by step for both partners. It also
shows the many different variations and steps in salsa. Most of
the dancing in salsa is done by feel and by rhythm. Once you are
taught the basic steps, the dancer can freely dance within that
system. The Salsa is a vibrant dance and can portray passion and
intimacy. Learning how to dance can improve your dancing skills
not only with salsa but with a number of other dances. Since it
is a distillation of many other dances, learning Salsa will also
make you familiar with a variety of dances including the Mambo,
the Cha Cha and Merengue. Learning how to dance salsa also

confidence and teaches how to move with and around other women.
