18 & Over Club Recommendations (San Francisco Bay Area)

In response to a reader's request regarding venues that cater to the "18 &
over" crowd, here is a brief list we compiled of venues that match those
criteria. Yes, most of us "over 21'ers" take our dancing nights for granted,
since we can get in anywhere, anytime! These venues usually have class lessons
before they start and have performances on some nights. The starting times are
also the start times of the lessons. This section also includes special,
once-a-month events. most of which seemed to be geared towards "on 2"/NY Style
dancers.
WEEKLY EVENTS:
SUNDAY:
Starlite Ballroom, Sunnyvale, CA,1160 North Fair Oaks Avenue (at Tasman), Sunnyvale, CA
Admission: $12 includes all lessons & parties; $10 for parties only.
Lessons & Party Info: Instructor(s) - Pantea of Mambo Romero.
Beginning class from 7:00-7:45p.m. and covers basic footwork, combination, and
styling. Intermediate class from 7:45 - 8:30p.m. The party starts right after
the intermediate lesson. Dancing from 8:30pm to 11:00pm.
Description: There is plenty of free, convenient parking available. Juice,
soda, and light snacks can be purchased at the bar.

Allegro Ballroom, 5855 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, CA
Admission: $10 includes all lessons & parties; $6 for parties only.
Lessons & Party Info: Instructor(s) - Garry & Isabelle. Beginning/Intermediate@ 6:00pm, Intermediate/Advanced@ 7:00pm or Basic/Beginners@ 7:00pm. Dance from 8:00pm - 12:00 midnight!
Description: Nice big dance floor and well-attended.

Dance Spectrum "Hot Salsa Fridays" - 1707d South Bascom Ave., Campbell (near San Jose), CA 95008
Admission: $12 includes all lessons & parties; $10 for parties only.
Lessons & Party Info: Instructor(s) - Michelle & Ricardo of Pretty Boys & Girls Dance Company. Beginner lessons start at 7pm. Intermediate footwork and styling with pattern begins at 8pm. Party and buffet starts at 9pm.
Description: All night Salsa & Mambo, all ages welcome! Presented by Michelle
& Ricardo of PRETTY BOYS & GIRLS PRODUCTIONS! Includes free buffet, free water,
free parking, and a huge beautiful dance floor with floor to ceiling mirrors.

Lessons & Party Info: Instructor(s) - Ava Apple of Latin Symbolics Dance Company. Beginner and Intermediate "on 2" lessons taught simultaneously from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Party starts at 8:30pm.
Description: Workshops and performances (check schedule and main page for announcements). Mainly an "on 2" dance crowd but all timings welcome! Nice, spacious dance floor! Street parking is easy.
